Großes Wiesbachhorn (3564 m) & Kaprun high mountain reservoirs Glacier-free high-altitude tour on the rival of the Grossglockner. The Grosser Wiesbachhorn is a beautifully shaped pyramid almost completely surrounded by glaciers above the Kaprun reservoirs. The third highest peak in the Glockner group with its enormous 2400m high eastern flank, the highest continuous flank in the Eastern Alps, is often seen in mountaineering literature as a rival to the Grossglockner. The Kaindlgrat, the route over the Heinrich-Schwaiger Haus, is varied and very scenic. However, it requires high-altitude tour experience as well as surefootedness and a head for heights.
