Description

Hoher Göll (2522 m)The Hohe Göll is the dominant mountain massif in the eastern Berchtesgaden Alps. The trails up this mighty panoramic mountain are all long and require a steady and sure-footed hiker.


Ascent over the Mannlgrat. A scenic via ferrata past countless towers, through small caves, and through a mighty rocky backdrop.


Type: Difficult mountain hike, C, 1+

Elevation gain: Approx. 1550m

Walking time: Ascent to Kehlsteinhaus: Approx. 2.00 hours, Hoher Göll: Approx. 3.30 hours, Descent: Schustersteig, approx. 3.00 hours

Fitness level: High, very long climb

Technique: Moderate, exposed trails, sure-footedness required

Equipment: Hiking gear, Via-Ferrata-Kit, helmet, plenty of water!

Starting point: Parkplatz Ofnerboden (Day ticket: 9.50 €)

Warning: There is still a lot of snow left and requires absolute experience, surefootedness and appropriate equipment. Crampons and possibly an ice axe are recommended!
