Please read the entire description before signing up. This is not a standard weekend hike; this is a 2-day, 95-kilometer hike across multiple cantons.
The weather in May is usually nice, let's enjoy the beautiful spring time before summer comes!
We are hiking from Altdorf (Uri) all the way to the center of Zurich in a single weekend. We will connect the Weg der Schweiz, the cantonal valleys of Schwyz, and the shores of Lake Zurich into one super route.
๐๏ธ The Plan (May 30-31):
Day 1 (Saturday): The Alpine Push. We start early in Altdorf, tackle the most brutal elevation climbs of the route (roughly 2800m+ of gain), and push through Schwyz toward our midway point.
The Overnight: We will stop somewhere between Schwyz and the southern banks of Lake Zurich for a massive dinner and sleep to recover. (Note: You are 100% responsible for booking your own hostel, hotel, or campsite for Saturday night!).
Day 2 (Sunday): The Waterborne March. We wake up, meet back up on the trail, and march the final marathon-distance leg along the shores of Lake Zurich straight to Zurich HB.
๐ The Stats:
Total Distance: 95 km
Total Elevation Gain: ~2811m
Pace: Steady, focused, and relentless.
๐ Mandatory Gear:
Do not show up in fresh, unbroken-in shoes! You need serious, battle-tested footwear, extra blister tape/first-aid, a headlamp, your overnight gear for Saturday, and enough calories to keep your engine running for two solid days.
If you want to test your absolute limits and earn the ultimate bragging rights... I will see you at the start line. ๐
