Description

Weather is looking good this Saturday, so lets checkout a nice classic, the hike up the Rotwand, getting a nice Kaiserschmarrn or similar at the Rotwandhaus.

This is not a difficult hike by itself but I would expect you to have enough fitness so we can manage the hike in a reasonable time

Plan is to go with the train at 8.04 in direction to Bayrischzell, get out at Fischhausen-Neuhaus and take a bus to our start point at Spitzingsee and start the hike from there.

Cost of the ticket depends of the number of people joining but should be around 10-12€ each

Way back is the same way as up, again returning with the bus.

There is a possibility to sled down if you either bring your own sled or rent one at the starting point, but then you habe to bring it all the way up as well...

Good to know

We meet at 6750 at track 34 at the Munich main train station. Please be on time so we have enough time to buy the tickets.

Please bring

  • hiking boots
  • proper hiking clothing (not accepting anybody with Jeans and / or Sneakers)
  • Scarf
  • hiking poles if you have
  • Gaiters
  • Crampons if you have
  • food & snacks
  • Water (I would recommend at least 1,5 Liters)
  • head lamp (should not be needed but just in case)
  • some cash
  • good mood
  • sun glasses and sun cream
  • charged phone (my number is 0177/9768273)
  • DAV or similar insurance highly recommended

Hope everybody got home safely. Managed to get up and down in a bit leas than 2 hours and found my jacket, wallet and ticket.
