The Pleisenspitze (2569m) is the westernmost peak in the Karwendelhauptkamm and is known for its great views.
It is a medium difficult hike with ascent of 1600 m, but not technically challenging. Some sure-footedness and good stamina is required. This is NOT a hike for beginners.
The whole tour will take around 8-10 hours depending on our pace.
We may be able to stop at Pleisenhütte for refreshment, which is about halfway up the mountain and it seems to be open.
Also, since this is my first time organising a hike with HBM, I would really appreciate it if someone who is more experienced and can navigate well can join us.
We will take the 7:32 AM train from Munich Hbf (RB 5411Mittenwald) to Garmisch, where we change and take the OBB (REX) train to Scharnitz Bahnhof at 9:06.
We will buy the Werdenfels + Innsbruck ticket for the group at 7:20, which costs around 15-16 euro per person for a group of 5.
The plan is to take the 7:25 PM train back from Scharnitz to Munich Hbf, and we will be back at 9:26 PM. There are later trains available in case we don't make it.
The weather forecast looks promising with sun and low chances of rain, but bringing your waterproof is still highly recommended.
