Description

[Edit: I got the advice that I should clarify that this hike is really demanding and it's roundabout one Zugspitze per day.]

[Edit: This hike is T4-T6 over several days. Please take note.]

[Edit: Rifugio Pertini is not available as they have not yet found a new landlord. That means day 1 will be a bit longer to be more flexible on day 2.]

Dear Buddies,

This 4-day tour will lead us once through four beautiful mountain ranges of the Dolomites in South Tyrol: Starting in Santa Cristina in Val Gardena, we will cross Plattkofel and spend the first night at Tierser Alpl next to Schlern. The next day will lead us through the southeastern corner of the this range before we make it into Rosengarten via the Molignon group. On day 3, we will cross the heart of Rosengarten to eventually get a night's sleep at the foot of Rotwand / Roda di Vael. Eventually, we will move on to Latemar group the last day and get a final view of Karersee and the overall beautiful scenery.

More detailed descriptions can be found in the routes for each day:

In summary:

  • Four days of panoramic views and classy hikes in the Dolomites
  • Eight via ferratas between B and D difficulty
  • At least as many peaks
  • Around 2000 m gain and 10 hours of hiking per day
  • Overnight stays at three beautiful huts
  • Transport by Flixbus via Bozen / Bolzano
  • Total costs should be about 250 €

Please contact me well in advance before you join the hike. It is very demanding not only on one day but all four of them, especially in terms of endurance. In order to manage what we've planned should be somewhere between 600 and 700 m gain in normal terrain.

Before the hike we should meet anyway, either online or for some drinks, to get to know each other and align on our expectations. I think 4 people would be a great group for this endeavour. Really looking forward to some amazing days!

Please note: I've already booked huts for day 2 and 3 for me (Rifugio Antermoia and Rifugio Roda di Vael). I suppose I can add more people to my reservation, but we should do it rather quickly.

Disclaimer: I am no mountain guide. Hiking can be dangerous. The routes described are very demanding, both in terms of altitude (constantly above 2000 m), exposure, technical difficulty (up to grade D) and endurance (expect up to and even more than 2000 m gain and 10 hours of walking per day). You should be able to orientate on your own if necessary. Summing up, this is not a beginners hike.

Good to know
