Small & Large Traithen

The Kleine and Große Traithen (1723m and 1854m respectively) are two beautiful panoramic mountains directly above Bayrischzell, which can even be climbed without much effort - due to the high starting height from the year-round Walleralm. Nevertheless, it is never really full, especially on the large Traithen. The easy path even leads over a third peak, but requires sure-footedness (wire rope protection), especially before the small Traithen. Even on the descent it gets quite steep at times. So you should be sure-footed and have a head for heights and not do the tour in wet conditions. In the dry it is a top tour to two great panoramic peaks, which are ideal as a preliminary tour for more alpine routes. The ridge alone (from which you can easily shorten the tour) from the Little Traithen to the (optional) Great Traithen is worth this tour!
